So I'm back home. From the lack of blog-posts you should probably have figured out that I had a pretty good time since I couldn't bother blogging at all during my two weeks of vacation. That and the fact that I do on principle refuse to pay 20 Euros a day for internet when I should be out doing stuff.
I'm getting bugged left and right about updates, so here's your quick recap of my vacation! While long, try to keep in mind this is about a week condensed into a blogpost :)

So I came to Prague yesterday, although kinda late, so this is for all means and purposes my first day here. I have to say: Compared to Oslo, it is a rather pimp place. Lots of buildings with historical charm, covered in gold, and all in all, it makes Oslo look kinda like a shithole.
Last night was mostly trying to get acquainted around the hotel, Art Hotel Embassy. Art Hotel Embassy is kinda west off in Prague 1, which is where it seems most (but ofcourse not all) of the interesting things can be found. Sitting down at a local café, I skimmed trough Lonely planet and some other travel guides I had, tried to get an impression about how things were located and what would be the best way to explore the city.

Some asshole called Ben just took all the geek-cred that comes with a Netbook and kept it to himself. All portable-computers ruined forever.
Just what did he do? Click here and find out.
I'll just admit that, yes: yes I want one.

I've long been a fan of last.fm. They've provided a simple service: making it simple to keep track of all the music you listen to. Based on what you and a million of other users liked it would also create recommendations based on that data.
What separated last.fm from the rest of the sites out there was the radio-feature. You could tune into your "radio station" and actually stream live recommendations, or you could listen to friends' stations. This was awesome.
Too bad that's no longer the case.

I was down in Munich for Octoberfest during what is usually called "The Italian week", meaning you will find Italians everywhere. This was kinda true, but didn't stop us from finding enough Germans nor German beer.
No comments should be needed for these pictures, but I'd like to point out that they had a Hacker fest-tent there. They even called it Hackerhaus!
So without further a due: Pictures of me, lots of random people, some even cute, and ofcourse some properly sized Mass-krug filled with beer!

So as a Norwegian, I'm raised to believe that anything with potato in it is supposed to be a good thing. It's just that potatoes are kinda plain. This however haven't stopped people from using it for soup.
This sounds incredibly boring, but someone online suggested adding bacon and once you decide to do that, what you get is really bacon soup with potatoes on the side. To a bacon fetishist like me, this sounds remarkably enticing, and I had to give it a go.
I also know this one Canadian which is rather interested in food (to put it lightly), and he asked me to "document" it, so here it is, for you all to see. I even took pictures!

My German really haven't gotten better over the years, so I'll just assume there are no errors there and move on. Move onto Munich, Germany and the annual Octoberfest :D
I'll be gone, I'll bring my camera, and I'll bring home the same pictures I brought last year: My and various drunken gits with oversized beermugs.
Hope you'll enjoy it. I know I sure will :D

As thanks for recently helping out one of those Linux guys who refuse to have a single Windows machine handy, I got a new shiny gadget, besides my new phone.
Call it geek pimp if you like :D
Just check the attacked picture, and start laughing. It might seem as vanity fair just hit bacon street.
Anyway: As far as technical details go, this is a 8GB, gold-covered, USB flash-disk. It's tiny and I love it.
Certainly more useful and better looking than my old, clunkly plastic 256MB flash disk.

As mentioned a while back, I got fed up with the marketing and hype around the iPhone. Trying to counter any argument with the Apple fanboys quickly resulted in arguments like "But you haven't tried it yourself. You wouldn't understand".
So when I was offered one for free, I signed up to see what the fuzz was all about.
Now I have that new, shiny iGadget and have been using it for about a week, and I must admit, I love this thing. I might have a phone which automatically labels me as a trend-whore. I might have a piece of equipment which in some circles is considered "ghey", but I don't care.

Ok. So I haven't updated in a good while. I'm just checking in to let you guys know I am indeed alive, and I am now again open to invitations and suggestions involving a few beers out on town.
Short summary of my last months: I've been a Powerpoint-engineer. Or Professor Jostein, if you like.
I've been working on a program called "Microsoft University", and I was assigned as the guy to develop and deliver the .NET developers track. Things Microsoft said "had to" be in the program involves course-material they haven't bothered developing themselves, despite a global demand for similar stuff since the release of .NET 2.0 a few years back.
