Pictures: Budapest

2009.8.5

So again, shitty iPhone pictures, blame the Germans for serving obviously drunk people, etc etc.

First four are just to show off about half of my wonderful, spacious hotel-room. I spent near no time here.

Pictures five to eleven shows off some classical sights and monuments which I would love to name and give a background history for, but I can't. Should still give a decent impression of what you can encounter walking around the city though.

Picture twelve shows some stone monument which would probably have been banned on sight in the US, but Hungarians are not prunes, so it's all cool.

Pictures: Plzen

2009.8.5

First picture here shows the gate to the brewery, which can also be seen on the seal of every bottle of Pilsner Urquell for sale.

Third shows a vending-machine I would very much like to have at home.

Fourth and fifth shows have chess is done the Plzen way. Not very practical, but seeing a few people actually playing a round, it looked amusing indeed.

Next up shows the huge tanks used for making beer these days. Not sure how much beer they can make a day, but the bottling facility handles around 60,000 bottles an hour. That is mighty impressive.

Pictures: Prague

2009.8.5

These are all crap iPhone pictures so forgive me about the quality. I lost my camera in Munich earlier this summer and my man there still haven't been able to dig it up.

Lots of these pictures are just general pictures conveying the historical feeling you get from the city itself. Lots of old, detailed architecture with graving and what seems a disgust with the simple and plain. Still some comments should be added.

First one shows my most excellent bed at the hotel. These things matters. Second one shows a church nearby my hotel. It is also my only proof for having been up before 10 o'clock on a vacation day, so I though I'd just add it :P

Pictures from Octoberfest 2008

2008.10.6

I was down in Munich for Octoberfest during what is usually called "The Italian week", meaning you will find Italians everywhere. This was kinda true, but didn't stop us from finding enough Germans nor German beer.

No comments should be needed for these pictures, but I'd like to point out that they had a Hacker fest-tent there. They even called it Hackerhaus!

So without further a due: Pictures of me, lots of random people, some even cute, and ofcourse some properly sized Mass-krug filled with beer!

Bacon soup!

2008.10.6

So as a Norwegian, I'm raised to believe that anything with potato in it is supposed to be a good thing. It's just that potatoes are kinda plain. This however haven't stopped people from using it for soup.

This sounds incredibly boring, but someone online suggested adding bacon and once you decide to do that, what you get is really bacon soup with potatoes on the side. To a bacon fetishist like me, this sounds remarkably enticing, and I had to give it a go.

I also know this one Canadian which is rather interested in food (to put it lightly), and he asked me to "document" it, so here it is, for you all to see. I even took pictures!

Various pictures from Yoyogi park

2008.5.24

This post I'll make real quickly.

First pictures show some of the scenary in Yoyogi park, some shots from the Rose garden included.

Following ones show some of the wildlife here, even a turtle coming up from the water to gaze at a biker going by, resulting in him stopping up, gazing back. Until a evil-looking crow shows up, and the turtle decided it was time to head back into the water.

Second last is Sachi and her tiny dog, wearing silly glasses which she freely admitted actually being silly. She once bought them in Bali, broke them, and had a friend in Bali buy her some new ones :P

Some very, very few pictures from Sapporo

2008.5.24

No idea if pictures were allowed at the concert or not, but sometimes it's not, and if it had been allowed, I would be too busy jumping up and down to actually take any. I was in fact too busy jumping up and down to care nor find out.

Still though. I managed to snap at least a few shots in Hokkaido, so let me just dump them out here. You know, as proof I actually ever was here ;)

First things first: We are definitely not in Osaka anymore.

Following this is my hotel-room at the Sapporo (North) Toyoko inn. I managed to find it, by foot, just fine, except I found the one in the south. That's what you get for forgetting to copy the map to your cellphone ;)

Miscelaneous pictures from Osaka

2008.5.24

I'm not the best guy ever when it comes to taking pictures, so after all the touristy things were taken care of, I mostly had fun. Still I managed to snap a few pictures, so I'll be nice to at least post these.

First picture is a picture of some crazy Osaka-chicks, which I for some reason decided to snap after a visit to that Rock pub.

Following this is the famous crab-building from Osaka, near Dotonbori, the river going trough the city. In the street to the right there were lots of restaurants, and while those certainly was awaiting me, I headed for a specific takoyaki-shop, recommended to me by Yuki.

Pictures from Osaka Aquarium

2008.5.24

So I have finally gotten some pictures from Eelco and I thought I'd post them. Hope you don't mind ;)

As you can see from the pictures we start from the top, with the Japanese forest. Then we move on further down, where we can see all kinds of interesting life-forms.

Including some wicked huge fish and crabs. No zoom were used. They were just that big. I would probably fail hard if I were to try to wrestle these things, for the time being ignoring the issue that is lack of oxygen.

You also see the lucky guy who has the job of cleaning the aquarium windows from the inside, in the room where you have stingrays and sharks. Whee :D

Pictures from Osaka Castle

2008.5.22

To finish off today's updates, I'll post some pictures from Osaka castle. They pretty much speak for themselves, when it comes to size and grand scale of things.

I'll even include a silly picture of me as a geisha! :P

Anyway. At this point, my camera was down to zero battery, and I need to get pictures from Eelco before I can make any more posts. Besides it's 2am in the morning here.

I'm in Tokyo, the city that never sleeps (but might allow for some downtime every now and then if maintenance is needed on stuff like roads and such). I should have better stuff to do than post stuff on the web! :D
